Legal Custody vs. Physical Custody
Physical custody and legal custody are the two basic forms of custody in the state of Indiana. Essentially, physical custody refers to where the child(ren) are physically located and legal custody refers to dealing with major decisions, such as the religious upbringing, for the child(ren). Physical and legal custody are separate issues and would be treated with precise care throughout the judicial process.

								Enforcing a Child Support Order
Failure to pay child support is a national problem. Indiana has built several programs to help provide for the collection when the child support is unpaid.
Wage Assignment: child support is directly withdrawn from the obligor's employment checks.
Writ of Execution: enforcing a child support order and potentially seizing bank accounts, garnishing wages, and selling stock and real estate.
Bring a Civil Contempt of Court Action: the spouse can file a contempt of court action in the same court the divorce and child support orders were issued. This can lean to jail time for non-payment.
